Got the asus rog thor 1200 w psu, just move my rig into a phanteks nv9 as the psu goes in the top section I can't put the rear panel on as the psu cable is to short, I'm thinking of getting a extension cable with a 90 degree or should I just buy a longer cable.

Depends on 3 things: cost, volt drop and convenience of where the inline will sit.

Personally I'd get the longer cable as it's less to go wrong and less to faff around with in the case; assuming it's not a silly price.

Doubt volt drop will be an issue unless it's some sort of massive frame we'll outside the realms of normal PC cases.

That not the kind of PSU cable you want to get broke. In my head I’d choose a longer cable. And simplifies things without introducing extension issues down the road. Plus, it’s tidy on the inside of your case.

pin outs on PSUs varies so I'd jjust get an extension cable unless you can be sure the cable is correct for your PSU model
unless your talking about a kettle leads, they are all the same

All the same, you say?

You can also get difference gauge of the cable
