Need Mail & To-Do App

Hey all,

I currently have a GMail account and use the Google Notifier which has an icon in the menu bar which lets me know when I have a new email. I've set it to check for mail every minute, so I basically know when I have mail as soon as it arrives!

It works great, but I've been thinking about getting a mail app for a while to be able to just see the mail contents and reply if required (Currently, the Google Notifier just shows you the subject).

Any recommendations?

I also need a new To-Do app... I've been using Todo on my iPhone for ages now, and it is the best To-Do app that I've used... However, I need an app that has an equivalent app for the Mac that won't cost as much...

So I need a new To-Do app that has a Mac Version, and an iPhone Version and that syncs quickly together...

Any ideas? :p

Thanks,

Marky

Gmail get a bit messy in mail , i'm after one that keeps it smile I.E like gmail web but on the web if that makes sense ?! any ideas been after done for a while same as a decent calendar come to think of it

Just use Mail? Also re a todo app, there is a new one coming for iOS 5 which I'm pretty sure will be in 10.7.2 too?

I use Mail as well, great improvement in Lion as well. Don't have it setup for Gmail though. Keep meaning to migrate over to Gmail fully rather than use my hotmail address but never get round to it!

Regarding the Todo I don't know about that. I personally just use notes (evernote) on my phone/macbook to remind me or enter calendar appointments so an alarm goes off on my phone.

I could probably do with a more elegant solution too

I have licneses for sparrow and postbox but prefer the included mail.app of which I manage 12 emails inc 5 gmail addresses and it works flawlessly inc tags.

To do: Producteev/Wunderlist. iOS5 has a new Apple app called reminders which will also likely be integrated into Lion with 10.7.2.

I have filters setup on Gmail that automatically assign emails Labels (or tags as you call them).

In Mail it downloads the email twice, once in the Inbox and once in the Label. When I read the email in the Inbox, it is still unread in the label. (It's a duplicate message)

Do you have that problem? How did you resolve?

Exactly the same here any help would be great :)

I've spent all day on it and come to this conclusion.

What you need to do is set your Google filters to archive the mail when setting the label. This makes that message NOT appear in the Inbox but STILL appears when you view the labels.

This means that when your Mail.app client polls the server it will download the new mail and the mail will only be downloaded in the folders that are for your labels.

What I have done is create a "Smart Mailbox" called "Unread" which has a filter that picks all the unread messages from all folders.

Hope this helps.
