Why the hell did i think and say i could fix this.....

In Theory its simple and i got cocky

Can i recover this situation ? I've already spent money on parts and tools (probably more value that the bloody POS 10 year old bike)

Basically i'm trying to replace the bottom bracket. The bearings have utterly exploded at some point and its just a shaft spinning about inside.
It looks like its been a bit cross threaded too - i've probably made the situation worse trying to undo it.

I've gone out and purchased a sealed cartridge type one to replace it . Which should fit... (yeah probably not sods law)

I cannot for the life of me get the old one out, i have limited tools i've wasted 6h of my life now. ive used a gallon of WD40.

Is this a "push type fit" into the frame because if it is ill give up now.

The bike in question in a Marvil Everest - 13 years old. I cant find crap about it online. I'm getting really peeved to the point of taking a hammer to this.

Im in too deep.. Please anyone help me ? I should have taken this to the bloody shop or just agreed and said "yeah buy a new one" instead of "Oh thats easy to fix"

Im gonna get back to the spanner turning slipping off and cutting my hands some more.:D

It's not press fit.
Drive side is reverse threaded (clockwise to undo). Both sides will undo in the same direction as the cranks turn.

It'll be very tight. Often easier if you can get a grip of the bb in a vice and turn the frame.

I'd get that driveside cup in a vice as it has the two flat bits and you have it out a fair bit already.

Same for the non drive side I guess. Steel bb and steel frame by the looks of it :(

Had to give up too many wounds... Looks like im paying someone to undo screws for me on Monday :O how silly :)

A good bike shop will do something like that for £5. My local will just do it for free if it takes them a few mins. I often buy a can of GT85 or something, even if I don't need it as I feel guilty lol.

Heat might work as suggested (but could end up stripping the paint), but also sometimes you need to give the spanner sharp taps to shock it loose, rather than constant pressure.
