Hi

yeah i know, another what motherboard thread.
but basically i need the cheapest and best motherboard for overclocking a q6600. Reason i ask is that i have heard some motherboard only allow 330mhz fsb. I would like a motherboard which allows at least 380mhz fsb.

i have boiled it down to

Asus Commando Intel 965 - apparently allowing up to 480mhz fsb, but some only going up to 400mhz.

Asus P5B Deluxe (Socket 775) PCI - i believe this also allows for 400+mhz with quad core, but not 100% cerrtain.

but i am open to suggestions, so if anyone could recommend me something that they have and know works i would really appreciate it.

budget is about £160~, less is better.

thank guys. :)

just a word of warning!
I recently had a Asus P5b delux and encounterd a problem when I updated the bios (to I think it was v1004) for some strange reason it lost random items in the bios, I re-flashed it and still the same problem.

If you are going for this board leave the bios well alone untill there is a newer release.

Gary Key of Anandtech has shown screenies of an abit AB9 QuadGT with a quadcore doing 450fsb (he's had it higher but not fully stable).
BIOS needs a bit more work but it's a nice board.
