Need more buttons for wow!

I'm running out of room for keybindings for wow (4 accounts atm, getting a fifth) and need some programmable buttons that wow will recognise. I've got a G11 but it's too awkward and doesn't have enough keys. If I bought another G11, would I be able to programme the normal keys (i.e a-z 0-9) as macros rather than pay 160usd for a 58key keyboard from a competitor?

I wouldn't have thought WOW would make any distinction between different keyboards... Also, that manufacturer sells products competing with products OCUK sells - I would recommend you remove it.

Any of these help you?

*edit* Not sure if saying xkey is mentioning a competitor, don't think so as ocuk do not stock anything that xkey do. If it is then please don't use the banhammer on me :P

Eh ?
Back in the days when I was playing WoW, i've been using well over 30keybinds and that I didn't even G11 keyboard.

Some people also use ctrl and alt with combinations but I got used to shift as on my mini laptop-style keyboard I could push any of those shift combinations without moving my hand from WASD area at all.

I see no reason for G11/G15 for WoW or any other mmorpgs, by the time it takes you to move your hand from WASD to the side panel to push macro you could have been dead. I guess it's fine for PvE and casual gameplay but if you wanna be top in PvP every scratch of second is precious.

Did you even read my post? I'm a multiboxer, I've got 4 accounts at the moment and will have 5 in the future. Over 200 keybindings and I still can't control my characters fully, ofc I need BUTTONZ! :P

Wilko49, I was looking at both the Belkin and the Logitech you linked after I created the thread. Has anyone got experience with them? The G13 has more keys, but also a much higher price tag. I can see the Belkin has 3 keymap stats, so I'm assuming that means the 15 keys can have 3 different macros each, but that's a bit too impractical for me. The G11 has 18programmable keys, with 3 keymaps, but they are also a bit impracticle. Which is why I'm swaying towards the G13.

I was having the same problem as you not so long ago. (I also multi-box)

The answer is here: http://www.xkeys.com/xkeys/xkpro.php

Note: picture is not of my layout, just one i found on the net that looked relevant to WoW.

Fairly expensive if purchased new, but i managed to pick one up from a popular auction website not long ago for only £40.

This baby gives me about 120 new buttons to play with (2x keysets), plus i have stuck little labels in each of the buttons to tell me what they do.

Yes I was looking at one of those, but as you said they are expensive if new (cheapest is 160usd!)

How much would you have to pay to get the buttons built to your spec like that?

Can't see them anywhere atm :( If you see the product you mentioned for cheap somewhere email via trust if you could :)

I did say in my original reply that i spent £40 and that picture isn't of my x-keys but of one i found on the internetz.

You put your own labels into them, i just have lots of hand written bits of paper in mine as i dont really need/want colours when i don't often look at them when playing. It's just to remind me in case i forget.

$1160 is a bit much? I guess you mean $116. It really is a great bit of kit and i cant recommend it enough - $116 new is really not bad at all.

What realm do you play on? Which classes? Always nice to see a fellow boxer :P
Levelling 4 toons atm (but not allowed to play them atm due to account issues).
62 Druid (tank), 62 mage, 62 shammy (ele), 62 mage. when they reach 72 my paladin will join the group and take over the role of tank

Yes I realised that you didn't put them on yourself, I worded my reply wrong.
As for pricing I meant 160usd xP which is quite a bit more than a G13 and
since I only earn £100 a week it'd be good if the G13 was adequate for my
needs, though if you think the xkeys are the way to go I can save up :)

*edit* after checking from their site, looks like I will have to find it for auction somewhere as you did,
since with shipping costs included it's 250usd or something around that....

I play on Turalyon - EU. There's a few boxers on Turalyon. My main team is the standard 4x lvl80 Elemental Shamans. But also have countless other teams on the go.

Im sure you'll be fine with the G13 - especially with a new team. I just found i needed a lot more buttons for all the unique situations you get into playing PvP. I think PvE you could get away with about 3 keybinds with how easy things are at the moment. lol

What a strange contraption
Do you own that yourself? The buttons look a bit small and fidley!

Lol, no - I just looked for the mouse with a lot of buttons that were programmable. I suppose it could be a bit useful if you put some labels on the buttons, but it certainly is impractcial.

You may want to have a look down in the MM, looks like a guy is selling a G13 for £40.

Tehe - I'm planning on icc10 5box with the 5 toons, perhaps 10box if I can find the funds! The extra buttonz come in handy for individual movement hotkey's, though I might just use a dummy keyboard on my netbook.

Have you got any mixed class teams? I was thinking of a feral druid/rogue/warrior/2dk settup sometime!

I have the Belkin n52te and after getting used to it i dont think i could go back to using a keyboard it just fits so well in your hand and is so easy to use

I have a lvl80 rogue and it feels much more fluent when using the n52te

only have one problem with it the last button where my thumb should rest, its uncomfortable to press but i suppose thats because iv got silly small hands =P

Id recommend the Belkin n52te to anyone who plays games on there PC
