Hi guys. I posted earlier in the week for advice on which graphics card to buy.

I currently need something as I cannot play the games I want after returning my 970's SLI (vram issues) I currently play on a ASUS ROG 1440p 144hz monitor with G-Sync, so if I go AMD I wont have that feature. So if this is the case do I go Nvidia again or sell the monitor and downgrade?

My only options I see are to go 980, go 290x 8gb X-Fire or wait (Which is proving quite difficult :))

I haven't seen many benchmarks but is they any 970sli vs 290x 8gbx-fire benchmarks available so I can compare performance please?

Just really stuck with where to go some advice on what my best move would be great!

My current system:
Intel i5 3570K @ 4.8Ghz
Asus Sabertooth Z77
8gb Corsair 1600Mhz RAM
Samsung 850GB Pro
ASUS ROG Swift 1440P 144HZ Monitor

You could senn the gsync monitor and get a free sync. You could then get a 290/295x2 or wait for the 3xx series. Your only alternative is to get the 980!

Okay guys appreciate the advice. I'm guessing the only feature I cannot use would be the g sync but I could still enjoy the 1440p Res at 144hz right?

Dual Ti's for £500 is a pretty good deal but you then have less vram than your dual 970s. But in cases where 3GB is enough then you'll get more performance.

£250 a piece is a good deal for second hand ti's?

Considering a brand spankingly new 970 on the website is £265 I really wouldn't recommend it.

Yeah only just realised the TI's are 3gb, think i'll just go for the 290's and forfeit g-sync

Powercolor 290's at £199 are an absolute steal. Best price VS performance atm for sure. Wouldn't even consider a 970 tbh, false spec, weird vram config etc. Just not worth it. GTX 980 if money is no object, or R9 290 for the most sensible money and great performance.

Is they much in the 290 vs 290X (Performance) was looking to go for two so £200 would be a huge saving if there's not much in it!

EDIT*** bit of research answered my own question :D

Yeah those PowerColor 290s are at a great price and have that factory oc to 290X performance levels. They take up more than two slots though so you would need ample spacing for that I think.
