Need more ram for my laptop

Is there such thing as external RAM for a laptop? I want to increase the memory if possible without spending money having to buy a new computer.

RAM. Although mine is ok at the moment, I want to future proof the laptop without blowing even more cash on new technology.

Make and model of laptop?
And no i don`t think you can get external ram
You will have to open up the laptop and add or replace the existing ram
