Need motherboard & processor bundle advice

My PC's showing it's age in the processor department and as I'm using my PC more than I have in a long while I'm in need of a little upgrade. My GPU and my HDD's are all good, no problems, so I'm looking for the best motherboard and processor bundles preferably with at least 2gig of RAM. The kicker: around £130, or thereabouts. Any advice?

At that sort of price you will probably want to go with a Core 2 Duo set up, LGA775 board and will then need DDR2 memory. Processor wise, you could go with a Intel Core 2 E6750 or if the price is right the E8400 would be a slightly better buy but this is what will most likely eat most of the buget. You could probably go with a board from Gigabyte, which particular model should be based on user reviews so this choice would be down to you really. As for the memory, there is so much out there I would simply recommend any branded 2Gb but again it will depend on how much you are left with to spend on the ram.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Pentium E2140 (Dual Core 1.60Ghz), Mobo: ASUS V-P5G31, 2 sticks of generic DDR2 1GB Ram, Radeon HD 4670 512MB, Generic 500w power supply.

Cpu support for that barebones is actually very good. It even takes the 45nm cpu's. Have a look for a second hand G0 stepping Q6600 for around £80 and you can also get 4Gb of PC2-6400 with whats left of your budget.

Or as above, a rebuild with AMD parts.

For the extra £15.00 or so, that would make a nice little upgrade!
