Howdy,

I friend helped me created this logo but sadly I can't get hold of him to help me again.

Basically I want to use this as a watermark. I'm quite capable of doing that but when it comes to making shapes etc in PS I can't do that. What I need is the green part of this logo transparent. If it means you need to edit the shape to do so knock yourself out. If you think anything else needs to be touched up feel free.

PSD can be found HERE

So if anyone could help me out it would help me out sooo much :)

i've had a look and it really is as simple as clicking on the green layer, then using the slider at the top right of the layers pallet and reducing the opacity to whatever you want :)

Get the pen tool.

Right-click on the path in the green layer. Choose Make Selection

Create new layer

Edit > Stroke

8 px
Inside
White

Make green layer invisible. Job done.

I've never really used shapes before, but I had a crack at it.

Took the strokes off the shapes and onto their own layer, and then applied a layer mask to remove the black. The whole shape is still there but the centre has been brushed to hidden. The logo itself looks almost identical, but theres some rough brushing underneath, so dunno if it'll keep ok as a vector. The green layer can be hidden or just completely removed if needed.

Only temp hosting so please reply when I can take it down.

Thanks people.

I sorted it. Basically I wasn't happy with just hiding it so I deleted the centre shape from the bigger shape to create a polo. Very happy now.

Thanks again

Following my method would have been easiest. Means you aren't tampering with any of the other layers.

Did you even follow my steps?

Yes I did but as I will be working with this image a lot, like I said I wanted the shape to be polo like. Now I have a shape which I can work with if I need to change anything and I can easily change the stroke when I need to.
