looking for a new new case chassis, what should i be looking for? needs to hold micro atx as well as atx

So far looking at "elite 330 mid tower chassis" anyone got one of these ?

About £50.00 pound but if by spending a little bit more gets me somert a lot better then would seriously think about it

Any advise help welcome Webb

Coolermaster storm scout link didn't give dimensions ? and seemed the best of the two but not taking to any LAN party's or it wont even be on show tucked away under desk so doesn't need to be flashy or have any LED's just have good quiet cooling and plenty of space/bays

Good review some of the watchers reviews mention "Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced" is this better or what way is it different ?

After much fort decided to go for what i need now not what i want now :) .... and what i need now is more room for HDD's so believe it or not the Xigmatek Asgard Midi Tower Case, looks good to me my system is a budget upgrade squashed in a old case that could warm up a Cornish pastie :D

plus by time i get around to getting a full or atx MB, a new blistering case will be all the rage and would be thinking of changing again too

will have to go look at Xigmatek Asgard Midi Tower Case again make sure it holds micro atx, and atx but failing that gunna buy for the price :)

Thanks for all your help and ill keep u informed how or what i end up doing Cheers Webb

Been preoccupied lost my OS's see HERE

anyway all good so far on that front, back to buying case again and now I'm not so sure about that Xigmatek Asgard Midi Tower Case? some reviews say front a bit flimsy I'm bound to stove it in when i have "computer rage" :D

and the coolermaster storm scout bit pricey isn't there any thing in between don't really care about looks just functionality and to be quiet is the scout quiet ? ....... is there a price on been silent ?

as always any help advise welcome Webb

After all that fuss went for the Antec 100 in the end just got it tonight, and its massive!!!!!! i could probably move home in it, if it had wheels, also going to have to, butcher my PC table to fit it in

anyway hit my first problem soon into the new build none of the wires from PSU are anywhere near long enough :( weather i use cable management or not, for a start ATX main power connector cables well short, built for PSU at top i suppose ...... maybe just enough room in cable management for connector blocks if used extensions but would be well tight

Also the two supplied fans cables are well short to say they new they connected to bottom mounted PSU ?

so i think I'm OK with HDD's they close by and OK with Sata to HDD's .... just need extensions to Main power connectors, extensions for fans to PSU, I'm sure u could buy ? ....... and any thing ells i not fort of yet too

would i be as well off getting new PSU ? with longer cables ?

As always any help advise welcome Webb

thanks KiiYzOo least i know they exist but well expensive for a bit of wire ? ..... how i see it is it could go to-wards a new PSU ill need to buy eventually when i go to ATX

Plus there is another main power cable to MB, on MB board it Say's ATX 12v its a four pin plug direct from PSU ?

i could never of afforded this new system in one go its like buying on the never never only paying upfront bit at a time :) ....... but will i ever stop buying it ?

Got extension wires from locale store in the end there not, cool none colored ones but who is going to see :D pic below ongoing build, got to get rid of that IDE cable takes up so much room

Antec 100 case so far well cool had to orientated the back fan so wires were long anoth to go through cable management and had problems getting them past top fan and processor cooler :( works but not ideal

posting really because i need more fans and don't know what to buy? ..... the supplied fans get power from PSU but are still adjustable (and quiet to none existent on low setting)

all the fans i got suck air out, need sum to shove sum in ;) ........ currently got a 90 mm "ZM-F2 Plus with anti vibration" shoving in!, precariously hanging on the side panel air grid holes, for a 120

can add three more one 120 side panel two 120 front for hard drives but how can i power them only got one three pin power for system fan and its not even PMS ?

Am i missing the joke here? ...... are u saying my PSU old? or am i over stressing it? was told it should be OK, for what its running, i can only upgrade a bit at a time and if it works for now that will do me

hope i haven't been ridiculed I'm sure thats not aloud here, all I'm asking is for your advise if u so wish to give, anything ells should be left unsaid

Corsair CX400? Thats a good PSU on a budget....oh and its black too, matches the case better.

Thanks VonScar for the input but isn't the CX400 a 400w PSU? mine 600w i don't care what it looks like ..... i can see mine might not be best for airflow but i think thats minimal at most apart from ascetics whats wrong with my PSU? .......

altho did need to use lots of Sata adapters hidden in cable management

If you overstress a cheap **** psu then it could go kablooey!! And fuse all your components together that is why the corsair is better, it may only be a 400w but it's waaaay less likely to blow up.

Ive had PSU die on me before but never herd of one that has fused all components together ? wouldn't the surge protection trip the power ? ...... anyway not wanting to temp fate and go kablooey!! i decided to upgrade the PSU

Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-650TXUK) [CMPSU-650TXUK]

bought today 12.30 ish from OC just got a email its just been shipped! ..... bit confused with description tho SEE HERE Say's its 650w then says its 1000w is that a typo or am i missing something

I've been a bit out of the loop when it comes to PC parts, but I recently saw a new brand - BitFenix and their cases look so gorgeous especially the survivor core.

OK not seen ??? just got a Antec 100 ......... thanks for your input look above for more info :)

got my new PSU already currently rebuilding all OK so far except for two niggles

1, Sata power connectors are upside down ? forcing me to wire from top down ? meaning cant put cable, in cable management ?

2, the 8 pin +12 volt MB connector splits in two to make two four pins but hand book Say's quote "detach the four pin connector from the eight pin cable, and then plug the correct 4 pin directly to your MB" ...... but which one ? also above cable isn't long enough to plug in directly will have to use extension :(

both four pins have black and yellow wires orientated correctly and are identical bar one has " II " and the other " H " but the hand book doesn't say which is correct one ? can i use either ?

as always any help advice welcome Webb

plugged it into the " H " one in the end because the " II " one plugged into that figured that the main one ....... anyway worked :D

now if i could just get windows to boot but thats a hole new thread ;)
