Hi guys, i have a coolermaster Cosmos RC1000 case and have been using the stock 120mm fans ever since i got the case. They are really noisy and now im looking for some silent case fans to replace the ones i have in there.

Obviously the cheaper the better, but im looking to get things as silent as possible - ill be adding some SSDs soon too to help reduce the noise!

Any recommendations?

I have checked out some stats / reviews, and the sharkoons / fractals seem to have lower dB readings than the yate loons, any forum goers that have used all three and can compare. Yateloons seem out of stock and the fractals are a few quids more, might need 3-4 fans so need to try and save some pennies!

Cant comment on tne fractals as ive never used those, i have used sharkoons and yate loons, the sharkoon 1000's were quieter than the yates.

I've got some Enermax T.B. Silence fans that seem pretty quiet, although I've not managed to have the PC running longer than a few minutes.
they're rated on the Enermax site as being 15db, but an independent review I was listed them at 22db I think (maybe 24db). I suspect this is closer as the manufacturers of any fan probably set up ideal conditions and measure from further away or something to get better results.

thanks for the responses guys - i guess you cant trust what the manufacturer states - end user comments are always more useful, and more reliable. the sharkoons do well on an 'official review', but as stated are double the price of the yates, the fractals can be found for a little bit more.

And the yates are out of stock :(

Yea, but for the price of 1 Sharkoon he can get two Yates though :p And Yate is probably quiet enough for most people I think.
Agreed, yates are the only fans id use on a case now, but then im running mine on a fan controller, they are great value fans.

Oh yeh and i cant/dont want to use a fan controller - the case has a door and so would be impossible - im looking for out of the box performance :)

If you are looking for value then the Yates won't be beaten. But if you can afford Sharkoons and don't want to wait for the Yates to be restocked you wont be disappointed.
