Hello,

I currently have a thermaltake kandalf case which is about 5-6 years old, my gpu (580GTX) can't connect to the case correctly as the i don't think the case allows for 2 slotted cards. The screws don't line up correctly. I have botched this was cable ties which for now is working fine.
The case is taking up quite a bit of room so i would like something a little smaller (and lighter).
Needs to be able to fit my gpu in
1 2.5" ssd, 1 3.5"hdd and normal size mobo/cpu etc.

Use external DVD writer so don't need loads of space for them.

Any recommendations?

Down to personal preference really, any ATX case will fit everything you need, some will require a 2.5" to 3.5" bracket

What's your budget?

anything around or less than £100, when i bought my current case there wasn't to many designed to fit the larger cards in :(

thanks for the links Raikiri, the corsair one looks good value for money, will see if i get anymore responses before the end of the Sunday and place the order.

In terms of value for money bear in mind that there's a cooler master cm 690 II B grade available for £50 in the clearance section. :)

The corsair is also good but the materials are a bit thin (have a look on youtube for a review from hardware canucks)

I had the same dilemma, in the end I went for a Antec 1100 as it was on B grade for £60.
Corsair Carbide 400R and 500R are also excellent value for money and they don't suffer from then thin materials like the 300R.

The CM 690 says it only takes cards up to 304.0mm which i'd imagine is going to be really hard to fit the card in.
Strangely the corsair 300r says it has more room for a gpu than the 400r , the 500 r looks a good shout.

I fell in the same trap (and really loved the carbide 300r as it can take card up to 450mm), but actually a 580GTX (which is not a small card at all) is only 267 mm.
A GTX 690 is 11", heck even a Titan is 10.5" so they will all fit with plenty with no issues.

Bar some freak monsters you can pretty much get anything in.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, finally got a little spare money and got the HAF 912 advanced.
Don't have a USB3 board so the additional bit of the normal HAF Plus isn't any use at the moment but it was the same price and no doubt i'll upgrade the pc soon.

Case is really good and quite chuffed with it. quite a bit smaller and lighter than my old case yet somehow seems more roomier inside
