NEED NEW COOLER FROM STOCK FOR Q6600

Hi ppl,

Got a q6600 oc to 3ghz with stock cooler, but its getting quite warm especially when I use programs like Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver quite a lot and games. Would like it cooler, I was actually considering getting the tuniq tower until I looked at the price lol nearly £60 too expensive for my liken especially when I know its gone up in price.

Anyways I was wondering if anybody has any other options for a good resonably priced cooler from about £15 - £45 maybe £50 but thats really pushing it. Or do you rekon the tuniq tower is worth nearly £60?

(HOWEVER Don't forget I am not looking to overclock my cpu more OC -3GHZ is fine for me. I would just like my cpu to run cooler)

Forgot to mention I have a Antec Three Hundred case so can't be nothing too big.

Akasa AK965. Good, cheap, easy to fit. If you are only looking to bringyour temps down it will be great for you. If you want to push your chip towards the 3.5ghz mark you may want something else though.
 
ok thanks I will check that one out. I forgot to mention the case I have so the cooler is not too big for the case. It a antec Three hundred

the akasa 965 will fit fine in the antec 300, just look at my sig :P . the arctic cooling is about the same in design so it really comes down to looks.
 
For a simple 3ghz then the Freezer will do fine and a good price, if you think you might want a higher clock at a later date, then look for the OCZ Vendetta 2, fantastic for the money :) sub £30.
 
Thanks a lot guys for all your help. I am thinking I might go for the Artic Cooling Freezer 7 it sounds good just what I need. But am still going to have a look a bit more as am not going to order it until tomorrow anyways.

However if anybody else has any other options. It would be nice :D

As I say I am really only getting it for the cooling not to OC more, even tho it would be nice to OC a bit more than 3 GHZ, but at the moment I have not got the time for faffering around with overclocking anyways 3GHZ is fine for me now lol.

I recently did a review on the Noctua cooler. Might be worth having a look - http://vortez.co.uk/review.php?id=9 If you have any questions about it just ask and I'll try and answer :)

The Cooling Feezer is a good option if you're on a budget.
 
Just so you know a Thermalright Ultra Extreme JUST fits in an Antec300, so check the heightd. I honestly thought the side wasnt gonna go back on .
