My old GTX460 needs replacing, can anyone suggest a card to go with my old i7-950 CPU?

Thanks guys.

R9 290 for me because for £30 less you can get one with a better cooler, but if you can afford the extra then the GTX 970 might be worth it for G-Sync, although R9 290 does have mantle for BF4 if you play it.

Thanks for the replies guys.

@Vipernet - Are you saying that the Xeon CPU will fit and run in my old motherboard? Are you sure? It’s over 5 years old.

My 22” monitor runs at 1440x900

Thanks for all the continued help and support. You guys are good.

you won't get the most out of a £400 card with such a low res monitor. I'd definately consider a monitor upgrade as well. Otherwise, you may as well spend much less on the gfx card.

The Xeon will fit and run in your current board mate. 100% sure.

I'd at least get a xeon and see if you can pick up a cheap 1080p monitor. Then I would consider a new graphics card ;)

Thanks for all the info and suggestions.

For now, I will stick with my old i7-950 and monitor. But I will buy the GALAX GeForce GTX 970 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card. I will update the other bits later.

Thanks for the help and support.

Cheers

Kimmy
