Hi all

I moved into a rented house back in april, and got a temp ISP (Newnet), while I was waiting for Be to get installed at my exchange. And Im still waiting

Now I have a 12G limit then I have to pay for extra

I need a new ISP as its costing me a lot when I go over my Limit.

Any advice on who else does unlimited BB and is a good ISP.

I dont mind waiting for Be but I cant keep waiting for ever. lol

(Im in the Torbay area).

I would recommend an Entanet reseller in your case. They have just a 1 month contract so you won't be hooked into a 12-18month contract like most other ISP's.
You can get a 30/300GB package (30GB onpeak, 300GB offpeak)* for £20 a month. I recommend ADSL24 because I have been with them for 18 months and the service has been great.
Do a search on these forums or google for more info on them. Just make sure you don't go with an ISP that will lock you in a 12-18month contract if you think you're going to be moving to BE anytime soon.

*On-peak is 8am-10pm mon-fri. Off-peak is 10pm-8am Mon-Fri & all weekends.

02 Broadband would also be worth considering, but they do have a 12month contract. Try and find out if they allow you to upgrade to Be broadband during a 12month 02 contract because I believe 02 actually owns Be. If they do allow 02 broadband customers to upgrade to Be during a contract then it would definitely be worth considering.

Do you still get capped speeds using this isp?

Do you still get capped speeds using this isp?

During very busy times (usually between 10pm-1am weekdays) speeds can suffer slightly because that's when off-peak starts so everyone starts downloading. However, can never go below 2MB and usually stays above 4MB. You can also switch to a different central if the one you are on is suffering.

Also, Entanet have 2 more centrals going live very soon and as more and more people are moving to ADSL2+ it should only get better.

You can see the central status page here;

I never notice any slowdowns while gaming or browsing, etc.

I'm in the same area, which exchange are you served by? I'm on WWTORQ and O2/Be have been delaying for ages: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange.php?ecode=WWTORQ

I'm also on a package with a very small cap like you (it was changed from unlimited >_>), and want to switch to O2 (I paid £2 per GB over and went over by a few GB before!). I think if they delay it again, I might have to go with an Entanet reseller. TitanADSL and ADSL24 sound like the best.

After looking into things on their website adsl24 looks like a good isp. Is there anyone else with them at the moment who can verify that?

Are they good for torrent speeds?

:)

Been on UKFSN (entanet) and now Sky.

UKFSN was fantastic, was really pleased with the service and speeds, then I migrated to Sky 16mb around 10 months ago, gotta be the best move I've ever made.

I get 15mb at all times, pings are low when gaming, there is no limits and no FUP and it costs £10 p/month. Lets just hope I never have to ring support..
