Ok guys, im needing a new PSU as my trusty akasa 460 has given up and my mobo just gives me power issue beeps all the time, even when nothing else is connected, just the mobo....

So the PSU needs to be able to run all this.

E6300
DS3 mb
2gb Geil 6400 ultra ram
X1800XT
Fan controller (akasa FC03) with 3 fans connected at all times
2 DVD ReWriters
2 HDD, one of which is a 74gb Raptor

And the system will be overclocked at all times too, so needs to handle all that, on the 12v line mainly it seems...

So what do you guys think i should get? i know Seasonic are good, and Tagans, but what W or model should i get from your personal/general experiences.

Thanks in Advance guys.

Yep Seasonic is a good way to go.. Very stable and reliable. Silent too. The standard Seasonic 600w can be a little messy for all the damn cables.. Performance > looks.

As for the M12s, i'd think i'd hang on a bit and see some reviews before purchasing.. Although i'm very tempted myself..

well the M12's are a bit pricey really, dont think i can justify the cost of that, i mean i struggled to justify the cost of the C2D setup.....but anything Seasonic is generall good yea?

Yep, there was an artical in custom PC a few months back... hang on..

yep go to www.custompc.co.uk and look under labs.. there is a whole PSU feature taken last October. 500w is listed :)

ok so after reading that site, it seems the Seasonic 500w is a good choice, and if i read the description on OcUKs site, it says something about socket 775 which is what the Core2Duo is......so would this be a good choice????? and would run the rig in first post, and run it when its overclocked....im hoping someone will know, as spending that amount of money on something when i cant really afford to, its a hard choice and would like to be sure..

You don't need to buy a PSU for a particular socket. Seasonic is a superb choice but personall I'd try to stretch to the 600w if it's in budget. 500 is probably fine but you would get more headroom from a 600.

oh i know i dont need a PSU for each socket i know that, it just mentions something about 775 which i cant remember off hand what it was about.......i dont think i can stretch to the 600w at all, and seems pricey to boot aswell....but the 500 is a managable i think, so if i can get the funds thats the only one ill be able to get i think.
