hi

have a windows xp pc with cable broadband and have had norton internet security for ages but im getting fed up of the renew charges on it .

would like a new security program that has firewall antivirus, i dont mind paying , i just think norton is expensive and is hard too navigate.

nod32 is that good?

cheers

Another nod for Nod32. I am currently using it and it has been great. At the moment i am just sticking with the windows firewall, lthough there a plenty of decent alternatives around (Black Ice, Zone Alarm to name a couple)

As per Will_3rd's post, nod32 and kaspersky are amongst the best. If you want to compare anti-virus s/w, check out AV-Comparatives, it may surprise you.

After looking at that, I might have go go back to NOD32 again, using Kaspersky now, but NOD whips it in those tests, scary.

if i got nod32 would i need a firewall if so what should i get ??? windows firewall perhaps?

cheers

NOD32 does not come with a firewall, but I don't know if they do an internet security package which includes one or not, you will need to check on the NOD32 website.

I use NOD32 and Windows Vista firewall, but then I also have a router with a very good firewall built-in.
If you do not have a hardware firewall (like a router), then I would suggest you download a software firewall to use with NOD32.
Kerio, Zonealarm or Comodo are generally good firewalls to choose from and they are all free IIRC.
