Need new tyres

I've currently got continental road attack on my '97 zx6r and my dad told me earlier that the rear tyre is illegal, i know it was wearing but not quite this low.
i've managed about 7500 miles on these, anyone know what tyres i should replace them with. They cost me £225 fitted so looking to spend about the same again.

Pilot Road 2's are fantastic, got 7500miles out of my 600RR, currently have Power Pures on atm

the guy at my local tyre place said to go for Pirelli Angels over Pilot Road 3's

Reviews do seem to be really good for pilot road 2/3's and although they cant always be trusted the tyres do look to be a good choice

My back tyre (Bridgestone BT021 I think) blew out at 70 ish mph and I replaced it with a Pirelli Angel. Wear is better on the angel but grip is definitely worse. Still have a Bt021 on the front and the back end definitely slides when leant right over. I think it's the mix/match of tyres and one (front) having better grip, but it made my mind up for next time. I only get 2k miles (if lucky or less ham fisted on throttle) out of BT sport touring but the grip is much much better and that's the brand (bridgestone) I'd suggest. Certainly give me more confidence anyway.
