msn email in trust ;)

thanks!

The OEM DVDs are different for each vendor. You can download this package which has instructions for changing a Retail install to OEM. Just do an install with any regular vista disk (leave the product key blank when prompted for it) then follow the instuctions in the package for installing the certificates for your manufactuer and changing to product key to the one on your COA.

You can download it perfectly legally off the net if you have a valid COA. This is the file you want (released on MSDN).

Not quite. It's totally legal if it's off a MS source, but most other places don't have the right to distribute the image, but then again if you'renot uploading then you aren't doing anything long. It's far from perfectly legal though.

You can get OEM media directly from MS through this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246

Thanks for that but i dont even have any vista HP media only ultimate and even then thats 64bit
All media's the same - the key determines what gets installed (or choosing no key lets you pick yourself).

That said, if it's 64-bit that doesn't help!

not true. the OEM media has vendor specific certificates. You are correct in that the same media is used for home, business etc.
Which is what I meant. Vendor Certificates only apply to the big OEMs anyway, and besides, you can get them yourself. Not really an issue.
