Need a copy of office for work/home

Not really sold on the subscription idea of 365 so what other options are out there

Mainly need a decent email client and excel or an excel clone compatible with 2013 files

Those 7-8 quid a month will add up over a couple of year

More for work than personal

Yeah but its 5 installs on PC, 5 tablets, and 5 users worth of 1TB OneDrive.

At £120 for stand alone Office or £8 a month, the subscription would be the equivalent of buying new versions of Office every 6 and a quarter years, when there's a new version of Office roughly every 3 years. An that doesn't include the OneDrive storage.

My work so I pay for it unfortunately

The 5 user package tell me more everyone I've seen is £7/month per user that seems a lot for office especially if you factor in a lifespan of say 3 years for s version of office

Office 365 Home (boxed) 1yr - £66
Allows for install on 5 devices and comes in at £5.50/month (equiv) - £1.10/device/month

Office 365 Personal (boxed) 1yr - £51
Install on one device - £4.25/month (equiv.)

With the "Home" yes.
5 installations and they can all be in use at the same time.

I share a subscription with my mother - so her PC, my PC, our laptop and my wife's tablet are all running Office at the moment.

Can I use more than one device at the same time with the above options though?

Yep, its like going and buying 5 individual boxed versions.

Installing it on a PC also means all the other users on that PC get the applications, so long as one person signs in with an account that is part of your subscription to activate it.

I've got it on my parents PC, both my sisters laptops, my GFs laptop and my own PC. Then also on a Windows Tablet, an iPad, my Android tablet, and my phone. And I've still got 2 tablet installs and 4 phone installs spare.

And the 1TB of OneDrive has totally solved my issues with ensuring my Parents keep their files safely backed up.

I only wish they kept the properly integrated OneDrive that they had in an early version of Windows 10 Preview, as that meant it was almost seemless to have basically a 'roaming profile'.

There are plenty of office365 personal (1 year) on ebay for £40. works out at £3.30 ish a month.

If you only want one copy for one device then that is the cheapest you will get.

If its more for work get them to pay for it.

This.

If your a real stingebag then get yourself an educational email or student status and get a student version as they are dirt cheap or sometimes free.

My work so I pay for it unfortunately

Then bite the bullet you tight git. If your self employed this can be easily scrubbed off through tax system.
