Hi guys,
I'm going to be buying this setup and was wondering how difficult it will be to overclock it. I have absolutely no knowledge of overclocking and not much knowledge of bios etc.
So I guess my question is... Would it be wise for me to attempt it using a walkthrough and what parts should I be looking to overclock and by how much? I don't particularly want to push it to its limits. Maybe a decent 50ish percent of it limits.

This is the system I've been advised to get be your guys over in the general hardware forum:

Any help is appreciated :)

I have the same processor and Motherboard. it's very very simple to overclock. get a bit more trial and error when you get past 4.2Ghz having to adjust vcore and test while keeping temperatues down.

Mines sat at 4.4 at the moment but i'm looking at getting a better cooler and some fans with a controller to keep noise down when i want.

Well I think I'd be more than happy with 4.2ghz. Thats achievable without messing with fan settings etc is it?
Do I overclock the gpu too or ?
It's for gaming purposes btw.

yes easily achievable to 4.2, just increase you multiplyer in the BIOS. dont use the Gigabyte EasyTune software!!

should need to OC your GFX card but really depends what games you are playing :)

just google 'overclock 3570k' will give you some guids on how to OC the i5.

4.2 will be easy ya can jsut change your multiplier to 42 in bios, the GPU should overclock without any voltage adjustment also, ya can just turn up the sliders in CCC overdrive.

Should be a very nice gaming rig.

Probably be playing GW2 and the new sim city and hopefully be prepared to run Rome 2 smoothly :P
Is gpu overclocking more complicated?
I basically want my rig to be the best it can be without going too in depth with all the fans syncing and stuff. I don't feel confident enough to do it and I don't want my pc to burn out after a few months :P
