Hi,

Current build;

AMD Phenom II x4 925 @ 2.8Ghz (I am going to be buying a 1100T soon)
Current PSU: Based 300w that comes with the Mesh Matrix II 925
GPU: Radeon HD 5450 1Gb
HDD: WD Caviar Green 500Gb 7200Rpm
Mobo: Asus M4A78LTM
Memory: 4Gb Elixir DDR3 1333Mhz

I have ran the PSU calculator and it recommends 277w for my current setup

My thoughts;

PSU: SuperFlower Amazon 450w
Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 212
Memory: 8Gb TeamGroup Red (Best timings that i've seen for £50 RAM)

Would you make any suggestions to the PSU, Cooler or Memory? £100 budget.

I know you would normally suggest getting another mobo, better cpu, ssd, gpu etc but I feel they are adequate. I plan to overclock the CPU and memory to 1600 which my board supports (Standard 1333).

If I get the teamgroup memory should i crap my existing memory as it is basic ram so the timings will mess things up for the teamgroup memory right?

Thanks,

Looks okay to me. Decent PSU, decent cooler. Yes, just use the new RAM to avoid issues. Keep the old as back-up, having spare RAM is useful.

If you could stretch £10 for:

YOUR BASKET
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 450W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £41.99

You'd get an extra two years of warranty, along with a better quality PSU. If you can't, the Amazon 450W will do the job. Just think it'd be worth it for a few more quid.

And stretching £12, you could get this and be covered for even better GPU upgrades in future. Also 5 year warranty:

YOUR BASKET
1 x NZXT Hale Power 90+ 550W '80 Plus Gold' Power Supply £43.99

great thanks.

The Antec VP450P comes with 2 years warranty for same price as the Superflower Amazon but its unrated but surely it can't be a bad PSU if they add a 2 year warranty to it.

any case suggestions? seem to be a lot of sold out ones here. the form factor for my mobo is uAtx which is Micro Atx so am i best looking for a Micro Atx specific case or a Midi that supports uAtx (More airflow in bigger case)?

Thanks,

Not sure why you suggested getting an SSD instead of RAM, maybe instead of the HDD but SDD and RAM are two completely different things and if you think SSD serves a better purpose over good quality RAM the world has gone mad. I googled it before replying and there are loads of discussions on this.

Thanks for the other case suggestion but im thinking of the avp viper case as it is about £15 and looks fine or the £20 CoolerMaster Elite.

I will go for the SuperFlower with 3yr warranty.

The CPU Cooler looks awesome but i'll have to measure that, seems like it will go close to my GPU. Thanks though
