Hello,

Im upgrading to socket 775 soon and already have a mobo and a cpu just need a proper cooler.

Whats the best cooler i can get for 40euros wich is about 30 quid for socket 775,( P4 3.0 ghz 2mb cache, Irwindale core ,EM64T, Asus p5n32 sli Deluxe), suitable for heavy overclocking?

I was thinking of the zalman Zalman CNPS9500-AT Aero Flower, Thermaltake Beetle, Thermaltake Big typhoon, Zalman CNPS7700-CU and the ThermalRight XP-90C with some kind of heavy performance fan, wich one is the best to get or if theres a better one wich one to get??

At the moment i have a zalman Zalman CNPS7000B-ALCU on my socket 478 3.4 ghz prescott but its having a hard time keeping it under 70C in summer weather on stock speeds, while i want to overclock, so i need some kind of heavy performance cooler...

( Also a little bit of topic, i know there are some threads about this but i wanted to know if someone thinks my p5n32 sli deluxe will be able to run conroe cpu's later on with bios updates, i know conroes need some kind of special power design but want to know if my(future) board can handle one nonetheless, so if u know something about this pls tell me, if not, pls ignore this )

Thanks in advance and sry i'm asking a so much asked question, but the search function isnt very accurate...

Sell all your stuff, ship ** pc to antartica and live there take a shovel make a igloo, take a portible generator. And then oc the thing or at least never worry about temps again.

:p

Seriously tho, just keep in mind the ideas i told u on msn as usual.

Tuniq tower 120, scythe mine, scythe ninja, thermaltake big typhoon

Any one of them will be a lot better than your current cpu cooler and use 120mm fans so nice and quiet or huge amount of airflow.

'fraid your board won't run conroe as it uses the nforce 4 chipset and doesnt ahve the required power regulators

Yeah i mentioned to him them Tuniq tower 120, scythe mine, scythe ninja, hsf's. He also was interested in typhoon due to ppl saying it was best on here awhile ago.

I would go for the Zalman CNPS9500-AT Aero Flower (which i did) I got this cooler for my 3800 x2 and its fantastic for Overclocking and awsome cooling power

Just get an AC Freezer 7 Pro. It's half of the price of the Scythe stuff and works 90% as well. The Thermaltake Big Typhoon is also good, but you have to take the motherboard out to fit it.

The AC Freezer 7 Pro just uses the standard Intel fittings so it's a lot easier to fit and remove.

AC 7 has just 0.01 C mroe thermal resistance as my current heatsink, dude i need somit a lot a lot better, AC7 is a poor cooler only the a64 one is ok but intells produce a lot more heat as an avrg a64, the AC 7 is even poorder as *** a64 freezer i need somit a lot better...
The typhoon is ok but the ninya looks better to be honest now that i see it, its a lot bigger, has more fins
, etc.....

Thx for responces im goign for the scythe ninja i think, as soon as i sell my current cpu im getting that heatsink.

Actually the Arctic Freezer 7 pro is an excellent cooler, keeps my Pentium D at around 60c full load with a 1.1ghz OC and high voltage... and thats in a super lanboy

Dude - you are very rude. And ignorant. The AC Freezer 7 Pro is an excellent cooler. I have most of these coolers and the ones that are actually in the rigs are the AC Freezer 7 Pro's.

I actually do IT for a living and I don't recommend stuff I haven't actually tried and tested. I generally have to buy 5 or 6 of anything I do buy and so I go for least cost/best performance.

Try the AC Freezer 7 Pro, I bet you're not disappointed.

Some coolers I'm currently not using;

ok sry for be4 but im a bit confused by the arctic 7 specs, what i also dont like its poorer as the a64 freezer while intells need more coolign (on stock anyhow) as a64's, its just i really want one of the best coolers available not a 'good' one, and on air as i dont trust water in my pc.

I dont have experience at all with heatpipe (or any cooler disign of last 2 years) so bit stuck on specs, whatever the case i appriciate any responce just trying to say i need something that is good enough for a high OC in summer , as going to try upto 4 ghz on a pentium D later ( mobo doesnt support conroe's so till then ill be stuck on older cpu's wich will probably drop in price) and since i dont trust water i want (one of ) the best air cooler(s)...

Why do you think the 7 pro is worse than the 64 pro? It is actually slightly better at cooling due to having a faster fan.

says worse thermal resistance in specs
and if i understood it correctly the lower the better(correct me if im wrong )

a64:
- Air Flow: 40 CFM / 55 m3/h
- Thermal Resistance: 0.18°C/Watt
to transfer heat up to 250 Watt.

7:
- Air Flow: 36 CFM / 65 m3/h
- Thermal Resistance: 0.19°C/Watt
transfer heat up to 200 Watt.

oh yeah , thx, lol, ocuk says it is the pro version of that specs ( in arctic cooling menu)
Are there any ppl from the site here to fix it, as on the site its saying PRO while it isnt the pro version

Yes ocuk are at fault on their site

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Arctic_Cooling_CPU_Coolers.html

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket 775) (HS-017-AR)
The low speed 92 mm fan reduces the noise level to a minimum. The patented fan holder is able to practically eliminate the typical buzzing sound of 80mm fans. The Heat Pipes with expanded diameter are able to transfer heat up to 200 Watt. The heat exchanger is built of 40 fins and consists of a surface area of over 5000 cm2 and allows for resistance free energy transfer to air.

- Heat Sink: 92 x 72 x 120 mm
- Fan: 77 x 77 x 42 mm
- Overall Dimensions: 92 x 114 x 120 mm

Ive installed my new cooler and i want to say thank you to all that advised me, I finally bought a freezer cos of the price (18 € for 7 pro in local shop, bargain i think) on stock my cpu is 36 C, amazing temp :) ) ill try l8er on oc again but atm im still gettign a new case atm the mobo is just om the floor so ill stop messing with it till i get a new case  , anyway thx for advice so far the freezer amazes me keeps the cpu very very cool @ big summer temps :) ( i mean 36 C idling , while it was 56 C idling on stock cooler...)
Edi:t 45 C load :)
2nd EDIT: Mhh one thign is starting to worry me, on box it says max rpm 2600 or 2500 cant renmeber, in speedfan and asus's ai booster the rpm are well over 3000, is this mobo overvolting my hsf (asus p5n32 sli deluxe) my q-fan setting are to aim for 43 C but its under it when idling....
