A family member has just bought a SMART car and messing around disconnected the HU and now it wants a code. There's no code card in with the owner's manual and the previous owner never needed to unplug anything so doesn't know anyway.

The usual online services don't appear to be able to decode it when putting the serial in so perhaps a trip to a SMART dealer is going to be required?
