Need RAM upgrade advice

Hi all


i currently have Patriot Venom Red 8gb (2x4Gb) DDR3 @ 2400mhz, i was hoping to get the same to make my total RAM from 8gb to 16gb as 8gb is just not cutting it for my gaming right now, but the problem is i cant seem to find these for sale any more? any pointers to where i could buy another set of these (new)

if not any recommendations of a 16gb RAM that will go with my setup

specs are

- RAM (as above)
- MOBO - GIGABYTE GA-Z87-D3HP
- I5 4670K
- Win 10

... I would just get a 2x8gb kit.. there's not really any left on ocuk and the ones that are to expensive. you need to search other sites I cant mention, but they are about £55 - £60 corsair and patriot but 1600mhz.. ive seen people on here saying the ram speed on DDR3 is not that important

Look for 2x4GB HyperX HX318C10FRK2/8 FURY Red below £39.

Reset BIOS to stock settings before adding them. Then put them in the primary dual channel of your motherboard, and your Patriot kit in the secondary channel. When you activate XMP after that, they should all run 1866 no problems.

I use mismatched RAM in mine. The slower ones (2133) in primary, the faster (2400) in secondary. All running at 2133 9-11-10-27.

Going from 2400 to 1866 will make no perceptible difference. Wouldn't spend much on RAM as your CPU is getting on. Are you monitoring CPU usage while gaming?
