i have p5k motherboard with watercooling at the moment. can someone spec me real good motherboard for overclocking with water cooling please. or does anyone now a site that deals with water cooled computers that are all ready assembled.

i am not to clever with workings of computer. some of the guys say i need to=re-seat heatsink waterblock+check to see if thermal paste has been used. do you now of any web sites i can contact to do this job for me please. overclockers said they wont do it. i am not clever enough to do it:-(

 Did you buy it pre-assembled?

I don't know of anybody who would offer such a service and I think that anyone who would would likely be a competitor to OcUK.

yes bought pr-assembled. what would cause failure on prime95 test. said thread 4 was not working?

It means your overclock is unstable. It means that Core No. 4 is not stable at the current overclock and when it was stressed it stopped working. It may have stopped working because of heat, or lack of voltage or a multitude of things, but the bottom line is this - if it isn't stable, it's no good. You really need to take the machine back to wherever you got it from and ask them to fix it. Unfortunately we cannot recommend anywhere that isn't OcUK as they are competitors. Everyone on OcUK has a trust account (the button on the bottom right of each post). If you click the trust button you can see people's e-mail addresses. Most people are happy to help out if asked.

It's a 5 minute job, dude.

Your waterblock is probably attached to four bolts, and tightened down with a combination of a nut and a spring on each bolt. Unscrew the four nuts, slide off the springs and gently pull off the waterblock. Clean the old paste from the waterblock and the CPU, add a line of new paste to the top of the CPU, and refit the waterblock, tightening the nuts in a criss-cross fashion.

You won't need to drain the water or anything.

But IIRC the main reason for your high-ish temps is the 120.1 radiator.

thx for quick reply, man what a great site. can you tell me the name of a better radiator i can get which will fit?

No idea if a 120.2 will fit in the Soprano.

Ask in the Case Central forum if anyone has managed it. If it can, then a Swiftech MCR220, or the thinner HW labs Black Ice GT Strealth II if space is an issue, would be decent choices.

The ThermoChill PA120.2 is the best of the lot, but it's a lot more expensive and a lot thicker than the others.

As above, troubleshooting it shouldn't be too hard as it's the kind of thing overclockers do for fun. However, that point is moot since it's a pre-assembled machine. You paid for a working rig. If that's not what you have you should ask that they fix it at their expense.

Until there is a problem which is causing the system to not perform to its performance standards then we will not take the system back.
that was there reply after i sent him prime95 test result.

That's total BS. Unless they told you, before purchase, that the system was not going to be stable they're trying to rip you off. Demand stability.

If I wouldn't accept a 200 quid Dell that was unstable I sure as heck wouldn't accept it from a very expensive custom rig.

sent him test results he hasnt replied, gone back once already. was over clocked 3.00ghz now 2.88 and still not stable. man its the pits

first he said it was memory at fault but did mem test pro. let it run overnight didnt show any errors? because im novice thinking hes taking the mick.

Exactly. Call back tomorrow and ask to talk to the boss. Explain calmly and rationally that you've been sold a defective product and that you'd like to return it for warranty repair. It is not your job to discern which part is the cause of the failure.
