I have recently built my rig with an asus Rampage iv extreme with an intel 3930K.

Now I have a few issues, firstly I seem to have oc'd to 4.3 but my windows 7 is not displaying this its showing just over the stock speed of 3.21.

It looks as though its reading the QPI Link rather than the Core Speed??

I ran a quick test using Cinebench and indeed the results show an improvement over stock.

But all along windows 7 says 3.21Mhz

I have disabled Speedstep and all the C1 etc...

Has anyone got any advice please, or anyone that has a same setup and be kind to share there settings? I have also updated to latest bios

Thankyou in Advance
Now comes the 2nd issue if i run prime for a few secs, there is no errors but it resets the multiplier and i get a stock core speed?

And then if i do another test in cinebench after this the results are less indicating that the speed has in fact slowed down

Windows 7 properties always shows the stock ghz for Intel CPU's. Same with my i5 2500k that's at 4.6ghz, Windows 7 properties reports 3.3ghz.

It's normal.

Just ignore it, don't worry about it. It's not necessarily "always showing stock" but it is pretty **** at finding the speeds. CPU-Z is infinitely better at finding CPU speeds.

BIOS changed or software for the overclock?

My windows only shows my 4.6GHz SB at 3.30GHz so maybe that is a common thing with windows, yet my i5 750 did show my overclock in windows.

Ok now I am really confused I have now got windows saying 4.0Ghz but had to get the oc in bios to 4.7? And if I run CPUZ it says clock speed of 4.0 but can go higher for no reason.

Also when the pc starts up it says speed 4.0ghz with a (target speed of 4.7ghz) anyone with this board and cpu please advise how you got a stable oc with windows detecting it correctly because clearly win 7 should be able to detect it if its moved to 4.0ghz?

OK, I think there is a conflict between cpuZ and realtemp as it only resets the multiplier when i use both together. If I use coretemp and cpuz the multiplier does not change.

Still puzzled as to why win 7 only detects it running at 3.21 when clearly I am running at 4.6 confirmed by cinebench results:confused:

I'd be more worried about your voltage, tbh. 4.3 is around the 1.25v - 1.26v region for mine, does yours really need all that? Setting aside the Win 7 business, this could be why things are misbehaving.

With the 3930K your overclock is actually the turbo minimum speed, some programs may not pick this up maybe?
