I am currently trying to choose the graphics card setup for my new gaming rig. Basically the questions are these:

Should I go for superclocked 8800gts 320mb x2 in SLI and if so by evga or bfg and why

Or a single superclocked 8800gts 640mb evga

or a single 8800gtx evga - but budget starts to fail at this point, with the 8800gts having higher clock speed.

Or (what everyone seems to be asking) should I wait for the r600 (would I be able to afford it? - what sort of price do people think it could be?) or should I be considering some of the ati cards such as the x1959xtx?

I had originally thought I would go for the superclocked evga 8800gts 640mb, then I could always add another if I needed it...

Any help is much appreciated as I am starting to have to many options...

Depends on your budget.

If you have the money, take the 8800GTX.

The 8800GTS 640 gives more performance than the X1950XTX at around the same price point, so I wouldn't recommend an X1950 unless you're on a really tight budget, in which case the X1950 Pro for just less than £100 is a good buy. :)

As above, if you have the money then the 8800 GTX, don't even consider ATi till they get R600 out in May, if you can wait then wait for that, if you can't then the only cards you can buy now are Nvidia's 8 series as ATi's cards are all worthless now due to them all being old tech. :)
