I run my Opty at stock voltage at 2.6Ghz. To run 1:1 I will need my memory to go to 290Mhz. Timings aren't all that important as long as I can get the speed though it would be nice if they can do 1T.

I haven't tried pushing the CPU yet but suspect it will go to around 2.7 with a little more voltage. I'd like my memory to stay with it so the higher the better.

The 1T seems to make the most difference but from reading the sticky here 20Mhz will make more difference than tight timings.

REALLY? I though good timings were all important especially on AMD systems?

I'm actually yet to see some article that confirms the timings > frequency thing.
There was recently a 1gb kit advertised on ebay that was capable of doing 2-3-3-6 @ ddr600, a geil engineering sample. Not that its relevant seeing as you want a 2gb kit and it sold ages ago.

the athlons dont suffer from lack of bandwidth, so you can go right upto ddr600 if you want, but it'll be happy at ddr500 or less anyway.

that way you could prob push your opty more as theres less strain on the mem controller.
