Need some advice on a Coursair RMA

Sent my RAM back to corsair as it stopped working. The RAM I had was this -

They replied -

We have received your RMA 1207705 which unfortunately is for an obsolete/discontinued product which is no longer available for direct replacement. Under our warranty policy we are able to offer you alternate replacement. Please confirm to us at your earliest convenience.

Returned Product: TWIN2X4096-8500C5D G
Returned Qty: 1 SET
Potential/Alternate Replacement: TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX G

So I said

I am not entirely happy with the replacement you are offering me. The RAM I origianlly had which I have sent back to you ran at 1066MHz, the replacement you are offering me is only 800MHz. I consider it unacceptable to be given a lower valued and lower performance product in return for for what I returned.

They then said

Unfortunately, unable to provide a direct replacement for your memory.
We can also offer you a CMFUSB-16GB flash drive along with the memory or you may call
In 1.888.222.4346 for a list of ddr3 memory replacement if you would prefer.

The lower speed RAM and a flash drive still won't make me happy. What do you suggest I ask for as a replacement?

Looking at their current products they now only offer 6400 so you are out of luck.

Best thing you can do is get 800mhz stuff or ask for 8GB of it instead

It's got some alright reviews on here so I asked for the 8GB worth of that and the pen drive Might be pushing my luck but it's worth asking.

Plus Windows XP only recognises around 3GB of RAM doesn't it. Would it be better to ebay the extra 4GB RAM if they send it me and get some money back for it?

upgrade to win7 and stop using an obsolete OS, some games out this year wont even run on xp....

They said they're sending me 8Gb of it. Not bad

Going to get a new system next month when I'm 21 and have some birthday money
