I recently got some money to spend on new computer hardware. I won't have this kinda money in a few months time because my money-management is rubish so i need to find a graphics card that will last me until atleast the end of then year for playing high-end games.

My current computer specs are;
CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66GHz
PSU - 550w
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3LR
RAM - 4GB Corsair
Windows 7 64bit
Case - TBD
Monitor - I might be playing on my 32inch HD TV.

I'm looking to spend about £200 on a card or less. I've gotten loads of mixed views on what cards to get.

watch out for PSU not being good enough for the 480gtx though chap and duel monitor really does make the idle temps go UP ie 40c idle on a single monitor and 60c idle on a duel monitor setup (in my rig) though top load temps were good not going above 85c bench testing and around 70 to 75c in games with both single or duel monitors. Mine is a gigabyte SOC at stock SOC speeds

the 480s are great cards but i think the 550w PSU isnt good enough it does state a minimum of 600w for it on the box

You would be better off with the 6950 as it requires a min of 450w

I would get the gigabyte gtx480se and a better psu than the one in your first post then that would be better than a 560ti (imo)

560ti Should be ok with that psu to but i would ask them at OC as they could advice you better on the ti card

A good PSU is the backbone of a stable 24/7 rig

I have a while to decide on what to get so throwing a few suggestions out.

I might buy either a 22" or 24" monitor. So my budget may go down to about £150. Whats the best card i can get for that price?
