I want to upgrade to an iphone 3GS soon and am with Orange so originally figured I'd stick with them. However, I really want to be using Spotify over 3G and apparently Orange limit your data usage to 750mb per month. I'm told that with O2 it's truly unlimited but then I'm told by others it's actually the same policy as Orange!

Does anyone here use Spotify or other 3G intensive apps? Do you have any issues with this data usage limit? Basically I just want to know what network to go with for this as the whole spotify over 3G concept is the main reason I want the iphone. Cheers.

After using spotify premium for a while ive found that i tend to offline my playlists more often than i actually stream over 3g, its a novelty that soon wears off.

Either way, ive NEVER gone about 200meg data in a month non tether and i'm always using my data.

Cheers guys. That is reassuring. I have an iPod Touch 64gb and use Spotify offline playlists for that all the time so I guess I prob won't use it for 3G that much.

I will def wait and see about this possible iPhone 4G though. Actually also now liking the look of the Google Nexus One more and more so will hold out for a bit.

Can't say 3G has been an issue for me. Then again I use my iPhone for everything except Spotify (yet...).

Oh and that Google Nexus One doesn't is just not as good as the iPhone. Let alone a new iPhone 4G. :p

Yeah I've heard the new iPhone/Touch firmware will allow multi-tasking so the Nexus One doesn't seem worth it now. I think I will hold out and get the new iPhone in May.

O2 is true unlimited. I regularly use about 2-3gig of data a month (Using FStream to listen to radio) and nothing has ever happened.

I believe the confusion stems from the fact that other O2 unlimited plans are fair-use. The iPhone is the only one which is trully unlimited.

If it was truely unlimited then you'd think they would allow iphone contract users to have the option to tether for free wouldnt you?
