Need some advice on speakers

Hi all

I am in the process of building a new PC and will be using the onboard sound with this motherboard https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-525-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=3078

I have literally no idea about speakers and connections these days, my experience extended to being able to put the green cable in the green hole....

Could anyone advise me on quality speakers to look at (ideally 5.1) that would work with the sockets on the motherboard? I am looking to at a budgets of £200, although I would consider a little more if the resulting product is far superior.

You'll need to find one with an onboard amp, logitech or Creative would be a place to start ! They have OK sounding systems. The Razer leviathan is said to be a nice set up !

Most speakers that you require would plug into the said green port still (not much has change) or optical out if the device has the option.

IMO for 5.1 is you got the budget, get a set of these:

If you go 2nd hand, they can be found on the auction site for under £200.

It has a inbuilt receiver in the sub, and it will take digital input such as spdif and HDMI, so not need to get soundcard or use the crappy onboard analogy.
