Hi everyone first post on here so here goes. You all seem very knowledgeable and experienced in this area so decided to seek your advice on the following.

I have never owned or built a Shuttle before but due to relocation I need a much smaller case. I have built my own PCs over the years installed OS and updated drivers etc but my knowledge is really very basic. Therefore do you think that I would be ok with one of these.

The list below is what I currently have in a very large tower case and would like to put into a Shuttle case either SN26P or the SN27P2. The price of these two are about the same so the 27p2 seems to be the best choice as I can upgrade to the new AM2 cpu later. Think that's right.

4800 x 2 Athlon 64
Corsair 2048MB XMS PC3500LL PRO Dual Channel DDR
XFX GS6800 (no laughing) will change asap funds permitting
Western Digital Raptor Drive

Will all of the above fit in either Shuttle ok particularily worried about the memory?

Not interested in overclocking or SLi as it's all beyond me to be honest just want a reasonable setup that works. Will be ordering on here so advice appreciated.

Money is very tight at the moment as getting married this summer so saving hard. I know my spec isn't cutting edge but it is all I can afford at the moment.

Any advice appreciated.

Look at my sig...Am been using Corsair 2048MB XMS PC3500LL PRO Dual Channel DDR and a 150gb raptor in my sn26p for over a year now...

Thanks for the info Chaparral, will it be alright in the SN27P2 case then?

And would I be better off getting the 27P2 case or do you recommend the 26 version instead?

Ok thanks for all the info guys bit depressed now though.

Assumed the X2 in the SN27P's cpu support list was reffering to my AMD 4800X2 S939 1MB (2.4).

Ok then if I go for the SD37P2, which is the best value Cpu and ram for it then?

As have no idea about the newest iNtel Cpus and ram.

Thanks. ;)

OK i'm going to go with the SN26P and use what I already have, too much confusion otherwise.

So all I need now is some advice regarding a good GFX card that exhausts from the rear and will fit the case without causing any heat problems.

I assume the 8800 is a no go as I have seen someone with one fitted on here but has to leave the case open due to heat issues.

Advice appreciated. :)

I have seen one of these for £250 plus it exhausts from the rear.
512MB EVGA 7900GTX,EGS, PCI-E (x16), Mem 1600 MHz, GPU 650 MHz, 24 Pipes, HDTV 2 x Dual Link DVI-I

Any good for the SN26P?

In my opinion a 8800 GTS would be fine, I certainly wouldn't spend more than the price of a GTS on a 7 series. At the end of the day you can always try to work around heat issues, new coolers will arrive on the scene etc.

I would say choose between a Sapphire 1950 PRO as a budget option or a 8800 GTS for performance.

Thanks mate you have been a great help, an EVGA 8800GTS it is then.

Thanks Chaparral do you think the curved design one WoZZer suggested would fit then?

Would have really like to have got an EVGA one though any suggestions?

Sorry for being a pest just don't want to order the wrong one.
