As it says on the tin, will it be beneficial from me building a new machine, around £1500 budget I guess...

I am currently running this https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18468744

I would keep the HD's I guess and that's about it and replace everything else.

Would it be a worthwhile upgrade in the next few months or am I better hanging on a while as a friend of mine told me my machine is still more than capable of running anything I throw at it..

My current setup is running as it was when I built it, not been overclocked or anything.

Thanks for the advice :)

That still looks like a good setup.

Overclock the CPU a bit and maybe change the gfx card (if its struggling in modern games to do maximum settings at the resolution you use) is all I can suggest.

Problem being Stu I dont have the knowledge or confidence to overclock my cpu or gpu for that matter, I'd be too scared to kill them.

What would be a suitable upgrade? I.e would a brand new to the market gfx card be compatible with my mother board?

just look for an overclocking guide for your cpu/motherboard and another one for your power supply. It would probably take less than an hour in total, and you are probably better off doing that for now, especially with lots of new hardware coming out this year than replacing everything now.

Look at it this way: if you were planning to buy all new stuff anyway, who cares if it does all go bang?! It's not likely to if you follow a good guide but if it does, you've not lost anything.
