need some advice : sram to shimano

Hello,

First time posting in here, I'd like to change from sram to shimano, I have x7 10 speed rear derailer and x5 shifters, can I just swap the shifters to slx and derailers to slx? Will it all work together? Or do I need something else?

That's about it. Chain and cassette will work with shimano.

Do I need a long derailer? Or a short? Will I have to do anything with my chain length?

Depends what's on there just now. Triple front ring should have a long cage rear mech.

Shimano short is only really for single ring setups.
