For the past 8 months I've been using a single LG 1080p IPS panel with about a 6ms response time and I've been satisfied, the colours are vibrant and as a first monitor it's more than done its job and would probably continue to use with my new monitor all be it as a secondary.
My build is a 4690k (not overclocked at this point) with a GTX 970 Strix (also yet to be overclocked). The reason for the lack of overclocking has simply been the lack of necessity, with the monitor and games I use I handle the titles I play easily at any setting on the 1080p display.
I would label myself mostly as a casual gamer who also enjoys the occassional movie. For this reason I've been drawn towards the 21:9 revolution but by no means am I narrow minded when it comes to other options I'm eager to learn about them and hear their arguments.
This will be my primary monitor whatever my purchase. I don't need stupid response times and would rather have vibrant colours to enjoy games how they were intended and films also even if it costs me a few fps.
Finally my budget is variable. I would probably go as high as £500-£600 but I am all about value for the money so this is by no means a necessity to hit so if you think a £200 monitor is perfect for me and will save me the money to use elsewhere that's not something I'd shy away from persuing either.
Thanks for taking the time to read this thread and I hope to hear from you guys soon.
