Need some advice

Hello, i have just ordered a monitor that say's it's Full HD but only has a VGA and DVI input.
If i connect the PC to the monitor through DVI will it be in Full HD when i play games or is HDMI input needed?

Ah right, cheers m8.. I have a surround sound setup so audio doesn't bother me.
Just was wondering if i needed HDMI for true HD
