Hi atm i have a E8400 processor p5q mobo 8 gig ddr2 ram hx620w corsair psu and a gtx260 graphics card.

Problem i have is my mobo developed i cant fix out of warranty and ihavto keep flicking the cmos every time before i boot up(tried pretty much everything to fix it)And im sick of having to keep the case open.

Im already going to get an SSD probably the corsair 120gb on this week only. And was considering upgrading or replacing the mobo.

Is it worth getting another 775 mobo or should i look at upgrading and not throw good money after bad? and what would be a good budget ram/mobo/processor combo to last a couple of years gaming in the newer chipset and stick with current psu case etc and swop graphics card later?

If you can afford the upgrade seems like a good time to :)

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i3-2120 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £99.95
1 x Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £84.98
1 x Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CML8GX3M2A1600C9) £39.95
Total : £236.28 (includes shipping : £9.50).

This motherboard is the newest Z77 chipset, with USB3 and SATA3 - it will support the upcoming Ivybridge CPUs too if you ever wanted to upgrade.

Of course if you can find a cheap second hand 775 motherboard, that might not be a bad idea until you can afford a full upgrade?

The i3 is a decent gaming CPU when on a budget :) it offers a nice improvement over your current CPU:
