Need some car ideas. Please Help

Hi,

I am looking for a second hand car that is a bit sporty and less than 5 years old 02 onwards preferably. Must be either a 2 or 3 door car.

I have maximum budget of £10,000

Any Suggestions??

Can you pick up a Clio 182 Cup for 10k now?

yes you can easilly! if you want to go the clio route get a full fat 182 with both cup packs. should be able to get a low miles minter, I looked at so many cars, and despite the build quality I think this may be what I end up with drive one, they really are a hoot! Celica t sport, ITR DC2 and MX5 are still on the list though, not driven those yet, found the 328 quick and nice, but not fun like the clio which is what Im after being 21 and all.

What are the BMW compacts like compared to the coupes?

. I had a look at them too! I like them but no-one else seems to! has a poor mans BMW Image.

I think they look naff, and are the poor man's 3 series, but are they any different underneath to the e46 Saloon/Coupe otherwise?

If you can stand the image, they tend to be quite a bit cheaper than the Saloon/Coupe.

I thought the compact was E36 chassis based (even the E46 facelifted compact).

E36 Compact was actually E30 based, the E36 rear suspension setup did not fit.

Not sure about the E46.

For £10k, you are looking at...

Very high mileage 02 plate 325Ci - and this will take a LOT of tracking down
Reasonably high mileage X/Y plate 330Ci
Decent V/W plate 328Ci.

But the chances of a decent 325i, 330i, 525i or 530i saloon on an 02 plate are considerably higher.

So if you want a nice BMW, you need to either:

a) Drop the requirement for an 02 plate car or newer

or

b) Drop the only 2-3 door requirement.

If you did both a+b,, you'd get some real great cars... mmmm 530i Sport..
