Ok, currently running a 3770k at 4.5ghz and I'm finding my 780 and the cpu are hitting 100% in an awful lot of things that shouldn't even be touching them.
Now I've pretty much decided to just get something newer as I don't want to find a second hand mobo just to find the fault is elsewhere(I believe my mobo is throttling things) I'd rather just upgrade.
However I'm a little stuck on what to go for, 4790k, 6700k or the 5820k.
I play lots of different games but I also play and stream world of tanks mostly, that is a game that is heavily single core reliant.
Which then leaves me stuck as to whether to go for stronger single core (4790k, 6700k) or to go for a 5820k and overclock the hell out of it (if I'm lucky).
Was hoping some guys here would have some experience and advice for me please.

Played a lot of WOT with my old system (4790k @4.6) and now my new system (5820K @4.6), Fps are exactly the same.

As for other games, as long as the are multithreaded then the 5820K is the best, were it me i'd go for the 5820K and the X99 platform.

Yeah it's definately a hardware problem, believe it to be the motherboard as the lan port has stopped working so my guess is it's on the way out.
What fps are you getting with that system? I know the 4790k is a great gaming chip but I suppose the 5820k depends on how good a clocker I get.

Looking like I may just go for the 4790k gigabyte bundle. Any footage I find of wot with a 5820k and it runs pretty poor. Seems the 4790k smashes it for single core games.

This is where I'm stuck, surely the X99 would be the more future proof but from what I've seen (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEuZM-pz-gk) the game runs pretty poor on the chip even when clocked to 4ghz (although I'm a little suspect on that speed from what the stats in the corner of that video say)

Has anyone tried running World Of Tanks on a 5280k clocked at 4.4ghz? Would like to see what fps you get as I know with a 4970k (not ocd) you can easily hit 100fps even while streaming, wanna be sure of what I buy before I throw the cash down on it.
