Had a hardware failure over Christmas with my old AMD x64 3500, either the bored or the processor has gone so they're both getting binned .... with the memory. I've only got around to checking out what has been wrong with it today so as you can tell i don't spend a huge amount of time on it these days.

I'm looking for a replacement now but the thing is its been a while and I'm not up on the bang for buck factor anymore.

I've stopped playing PC games with the 360 taking on that role so other than a bit of work, itunes and possibly the occasional game its not going to be too stressed.

Overclocking wise I'm not bothered these days unless i can get it out the box, set the clock speed to something that is known to work (like the old AMD2500 to 3500) trick.

So what to buy? Don't want to spend a fortune because its not going to be doing a massive amount... say anything between £150-300? As usual though the cheaper the better ;)

by a bit of work am guessing your talking about office?

I would go for something similar to above

But go for a gigabtye 780g mobo so you wont need a grapics card & 4gb of corsair ram

& then if you have an atx case & a 300w or greater psu your off
