Need some expert advice on system to build :-)

Hi all,

I am about to put a general purpose machine together .. used for general purpose activities and multimedia stuff
(photo's, movies, video's, music etc..) but with some future proofing built in so's it's not too archaic after 6 months :-)

Perhaps someone can give me an idea if the list below will work together and give me roughly what I am after.

The things I'm not too sure about ..

is the memory suitable?

good choice of mobo and cpu?

and I want a quiet set up .. so is the case up to it?

Any suggestions would be well received ...

Is faster than the X1300 for the same money.

Three (3) things:

GFX chosen not very good, better aim for at least the NVIDIA 7300GT;
G.Skill/GeIL RAM is equally good if not better & cheaper!
& heard of Intel Core 2 Duo (see here)? If your budget is roughly £500, you can spec a better system than the one above!

EDIT: Word has it that the Arctic Cooling T2 Silentium Midi Tower Case isn't that silent

Better of getting something else with 'effective' cooling & also a beffier PSU!

the T2 is quiet. but not silent

also, the integated PSU is the bain of my life. the only thing that has stopped me buying anything new for 18 months...because I have to get a case and a PSU as well
