Now I can have the 4930k CPU overclocked to 4.4ghz by them upon build which would be preferred by myself (ive never dabbled with overclocking etc...). I also have the option of keeping it at the stock 3.4ghz.

I would love to know your opinions on whether the cooling+air flow provided by the build above would be sufficient? Will having the CPU overclocked reduce the life span of the CPU? If it does how long would you expect it to last overclocked vs standard clock? Will I notice a big difference between it being overclocked or running at the standard clock speed? And is it relatively safe? If I was to choose the overclocked build from them, I would not be altering any settings any further than they already have...

I've been doing some research on this and from what I can tell most people recommend lower than 1.4v to reach 4.4ghz???

Opinions/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Below are the overclock settings they have stated would be used:

AI Overclock Tuner: XMP
BLCK Freq: 100
Turbo Ratio: By All Cores
By All Cores: 44
Mem Freq: XMP Default
EPU Power Saving: Disabled
CPU Manual Voltage: 1.4V
DRAM Voltage: XMP Default
CPU Spread Spectrum: Disabled
Intel Adaptive Thermal Monitor: Disabled
CPU C1E: Disabled
CPU C States: Disabled

I have mine at 4.6Ghz and all I had to do was increase the vcore. It will more or less come down to what the CPU you get but it should not usually take anywhere near 1.4volts for 4.4Ghz. Note the only thing I have found that can use the 32GB of RAM I have is to have 8GB for games and the rest as a RAM disk.

I started to answer your questions but kept coming back to two main points;

1) Exactly what is it that you need your computer for? I'm troubled by the £2.3k pricetag for a base unit and the 64GB of 1600 RAM. Maybe go to the General Hardware forum and ask for some suggestions based on your requirements.

2) You would be better off getting the right kit for an overclockable system and then overclocking it yourself. This can be as simple or as hard as you want it to be but at least you will have control over the two factors that will affect CPU life - voltage and heat. There are plenty of folks here willing to help you overclock plus there will be lots of guides specific to your chosen motherboard & CPU on the internet.
