The kind of games I like are RPGs, MMOs, city builders, RTS, physics sandbox games and grand strategy games.

Recent purchases include:

Witcher 3 + all DLC
The old Settlers games
Banished
Galactic Civilisation 2
Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2
Dungeon Keeper 2
The old Anno games

I have a pretty good PC so I should be able to play all the latest games on it. Any recommendations would be highly appreciated :). I'm trying to build up a back log of games that I can play when I don't have any internet when I move in a week or so.

Ashes of the singularity is a good RTS building on the old supreme commander model, although for pvp the player base isn't huge. Also, I'm a big fan of battlefleet gothic.

Civ5 if you haven't already got it will have you "just one more turn" ing all night. Especially fun with friends

South Park stick of truth is funny but also quite a decent final fantasy style gameplay (surprised me)

Endless legend, very much like civ, but with a bit of a twist that I really liked. Good choice if you like civ but want something a bit different

Not quite the kind of game you've mentioned, but I always recommend telltale walking dead games. In terms of engaging me with the characters, no game has come close since.

Oh also if you like dungeon crawlers then the new gauntlet remake is great fun. Good for a laugh with mates

Cool. Thanks for the recommendations.

Yeah I already have Civ 5 with all DLC. Good game but I prefer Civ 4. Still deciding whether I am going to pre-order Civ 6 or wait until some DLC is released for it.

Ashes of Singularity sounds cool. I already own Supreme Commander and Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance and I really enjoy playing them so I'll try and pick it up on the Steam sale.

Never heard of Endless Legend. I'll look it up.

As for the rest not sure I'm in the mood for those but I'll certainly check out some reviews for them.

Stellaris, not been out long but its basically space Europa Universalis IV (I'd reccomened both games if you like galatic civ!)

Thumbs up for Civ 5 aswell, spent far to omany hours on that - Civ 6 in october aswell!

Also i know you didn't mention FPS but overwatch has been an abolute blast, give it a go :D

You really should get Dark Souls 3, 1 and 2 in that order.

Sins of a Solar Empire has just released a surprise DLC package. Might be worth a look?

I've added that game to my wishlist. Thanks for the suggestion :).

I've watched some YouTube videos of these games and I don't really think they are going to be my cup of tea. I'd probably put my fist through my monitor in frustration :).

Shadowrun Returns
Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall (my game of the year for 2014)
Shadowrun: Hong Kong - (tied for my game of the year with Witcher 3)

They more of a throw back to old school rpgs; but the writing is amazing - quests well done and best of all massive amount of player made content also.

Pillars of Eternity is another awesome game with expansions.

Wasteland 2 - seriously a lot of fun....

Sid Meier's Pirates - its on steam and damn if its not a blast...

I will say I wasn't sure on XCOM remake either - but it really surprised me how good it is along with XCOM 2 :)

Prison Architect is pretty good if you like building things.

One game which I haven't tried by might be worth a look is War For The Overworld. It's basically a Dungeon Keeper tribute.

If you didn't play it first time round Age of Empires 2 HD is super cheap in the steam sale at the moment.

Factorio looks cool. I've added it to my wishlist. Doesn't seem to be on sale at the moment which is a shame. Trying to pick up as many games on the cheap as possible while the sale is still on.

Yeah I should have said - it won't go on sale (they have confirmed on their website).

It's effectively 'on sale' as it's lower than retail due to being early access (though it's a complete game they are mainly tweaking, expanding and improving graphics, I have several hundred hours with no crashes and no bugs).

Dawn of War Series
Warcraft 3 & 4 including the frozen throne expansions.

Absolutely awesome games and worth every second of your time in my opinion. The story and ambiance in the Warcraft series (and the colourful graphics) are still something that really draw you in and you can loose hours on the game.

I've been playing the Warcraft games since 1995. I agree they are awesome but I've played so much of Warcraft 3 it has kind of lost its charm a little bit. Warcraft 2 was my favourite in the series though.

I picked up Men of War: Assault Squad 2 in the sales and it's really good don't know why I hadn't tried it before now! I got the complete pack and there's enough missions (all well known battles) to keep me going until the next steam sale by the looks of it. I was always a big COH fan but this is much more complex with tonnes of mods on workshop.
