I really am finding it hard to find any good ringtones to use that come out fairly loud on the iphone beacause lets be honest, Its not the loudest of things is it.

The only tone you can really hear is that Digital one if your in a noisy place. Non of the custom ones I make really come out loud enough.. Anyone got any good ones to share?

FYI: The volume of the iPhone speaker is greatly improved on the 16GB model.

I've always used Garageband to import my own ringtones in to iTunes, and played with the gain settings if a particular track happened to sound quiet.

Something that isn't so "busy" works best. I am using a loop from the Van Halen song "Panama", however it gets messy when the drums kick in.

You can experiment, but a basic one that consistently sounds good is "Clocks" by Coldplay because it's basic and the speaker handles the Piano frequencies better than heavy guitar and drums :p;)

Yeah thats exactly it. Anything too busy just overloads the speaker..

Well I won't be getting a 16Gig model :P but I will be getting the next generation of iPhone.

Thanks for your help EVH :)

Could try the intro for the pretender by the foo fighters?
Or Never Again by Kelly Clarkson (but maybe that's just me and my love of Kelly :p)

Currently using a snippet from the theme song of true romance...the bit where it's got the drums in the background as well :)

Always seem to hear it!

Also if you poke a needle in the speaker holes it will pierce some protective plastic and apparently increase the volume by 40%! :) rather you than me though :p
