hi ....

im looking to upgrade my 2 x Evga 8800gt KO (sli) cards to some faster cards for gaming on my 30".

i have narrowed it down to either...

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-139-XF&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=927

2 x XFX GeForce GTX 260 Black Edition "Core 216 55nm" 896MB GDDR3 (sli)
as that looks like the highest clocked 260 out of the box and black would go with my all blak case:D

or

1 x PNY Nvidia GTX 295 1.792GB GDDR3 (Performance Edition) Which is 2 x gtx 275 on one board in sli

i can source either of the cards for around £300 and psu is a corsair 1000w so i have enought power.

which would be the fastest and best setup?

which would you choose give the option?

I'd probably go for the 295 which should be faster (240*2 vs 216*2 cores) and will also produce less heat and consume less power. It also leaves the option for quad SLi (if your mobo supports it).

But, wait for the single PCB 295s to come out, they should be cheaper!

cheers m8, i was thinking about the quad sli at later date :)

only reason i asked is because people keep saying 2 260's are all you need?

but i think the 295 would be better as it frees up a pci-e.

board i got is a gigabyte x58 extreme.
