Don't hurt me, I'm still the n00b who hasn't finished my A+ stuff.

My boss has sent me on a scouring mission to find a product that can do

1) Encryption
2) Backup
3) Cloud
4) MDM

And if not then gather a collection of different solutions. We have about 80 staff with various smartphones/tablets etc and we need to find something that is secure and brilliant and stuff.

So any advice/recommendations etc would be much appreciated! Ta.

Mycroftltd.com

I've trialled a few of these techs, mobileiron, good etc the mobile iron suite is excellent but only used in conjunction with Cisco anyconnect did it tick all the boxes. Recent,y had a conversation with the Police tech in our locality, they are going through the process of getting mycroft certified for use as it is an encrypted sandbox environment that leaves no footprint on the device and allows access to internal files and email, as such it doesn't matter if the device is lost or stolen. They are publishing all sorts of apps to it, google maps tailored for the police, share point, Internet access, outlook etc

My guess is that he's after a solution that does all this for mobile devices, although he could have been a little more clear about it ;)

First question would be what devices do you have, Android, iOS, Blackberry? (guessing not the latter as you'd already have most of this sorted then ;) )

lol, how about this back to your boss:

1. Encrypt what exactly
2. What is the size of the data, how quick does a restore need to be available, how accessible does it need to be, how secure does this "backup" need to be (offsite), encrypted? how often does the data change that is to be backed up, what is the backup window, can services be taken offline to take a backup, what is the application? is it a free solution (open source) or paid (netbackup), what OS (windows / linux), any databases involved (Postgresql, MySQL, SQL Server, Hadoop etc), what backup media should I use? SAN / Hot backup / Autochanger / LTO
3. Cloud? for what? backup?
4. Going by this I'm assuming you want a cloud based master data backup solution, tell him "cloud" is just a buzzword and what he's given you is no where near enough information.
