Ok, I think I have everything ready however I have 2 questions.....
My rig consists of the following
Conroe E6700
Gigabyte GA-965p-DQ6
ATi Radeon X1900 XT-X
Now the first question......
I know there is a plug on the Radeon for a 6 pin power supply. I have plugged in the connector from the PSU however on the motherboard there is a PCIE-12V power connecter - according to the manual its used to provide extra power to the PCIEx16 slot. Do I need to connect any power supply sockets to the motherboard for this or will the connector already plugged into the graphics card do? (I hope that all makes sense).
The second question is there is a ATX 12v (2x4) connection on the board, it says in the manual that I should use this if running a Pentium D processor (however it does give me the option of using a 2x2 connection) what power conection should I use for the Conroe? At the moment I have plugged in the 2x4 power connector but I havn't turned on the pc yet as I was unsure or should I use the 2x2 connection?
Thanks
