I'm usless at this sort of thing, i'm in need of a good eye? so to speak....Not sure what goes with what.

Here is a picture of what my mess currently looks like sitting on my test bench before i get routing my chiller up. Ignore the black rotarys, when OCUK get my order in stock that's being changed with Bitspower 90s, 45s and crystal link.

Now what i would like some help with is getting things to look reasonably good....? What i was thinking:

Change the coolant colour to white, instead of this mishmash of half filled X1 i had lying about :D and have white tubing, or clear...not sure.
I'll eventually get rid of my two air cooled 7970s so it'll only be 1 GPU.

Because i'm going to have my rig cooled by a chiller i'll be getting rid of the rads, so that puts me into another predicament - case. I currently have the NZXT 810 (gun metal) was thinking about downsizing, different colour...blah blah.

If needs be i'll end up stripping the lot, selling most of it and starting again, i should really think things ahead rather than going with individual items i like the look/colour of :p

Get some coloured fluid in the case? Or get a nice white 810 instead? Will match the fittings and then have a red/blue fluid to break up the 2 tone colouring?

I think everything being all black can get a little boring, and a bit of colour can make a world of wonders. Even with the gun metal case, I think a green or red will sit nicely in there, white's and black's as you mentioned just creates a bland merge of colour as everything is black.

Instead of scrapping the lot:

  • Get some red/blue fluid and use that with clear tubes
  • Get some matching braided cables
  • Get some white led lights to bring the fluid colour out
  • Maybe a white case to make things stand out a little

I think the fluid will make the biggest difference as it will be the eye catcher and at the moment the water cooling isn't doing that.

I'd be tempted to take the motherboard out the loop as well. Add's to much clutter to it then, would rather CPU & GPU.

If you are thinking of chaining to a different coloured liquid then you might want to avoid Mayhems after what Tim Logan said on his recent subscriber video.

I think a blood red would look good in that setup.

Spot on advice there.
I've sent a webnote to add some X1 blood red to my order, i'll probably braid my own cables rather than buy Corsair ones.
I've already got some white LED strips in my case, once everything comes i'll set it back up inside the case and go from there.

I'm going to keep the mobo in the loop, just because crystal link looks the dogs (tempted to add ram blocks as well)

I'll keep my eyes out for a white 810 (quite like the case tbh) i know Scotty had one for sale, not sure if he sold it though.

Reckon i should opt for the clear CPU block, or keep the black thing, clear would go better with the mobo.

I like TTL, i don't rate him for WCin though. I'll take his advice/warnings with a pinch of salt.
SingularityComputers i would listen to, not TTL :D

Check your trust:)

This???

Tbh though I'd take the word of a coolant professional such as one of the mayhems guys over ttl. The mayhems guys are always very upfront and honest when it comes to issues and quality.

Logan built a new computer for himself a 6 months ago and used a black collant supplied by Mayhems, it's not turned 'hot chocolate brown' and basically Mayhems said he didn't flush the loop and the problem was down to him, they went on his forums and bad mouthed him.

I would really go for UV reactive white coolants...
and ideally changing your adapters...

Gonna go with blood red, clear tubing.
Just put an offer in with Scotty for his white 810 case, so white, black and red....should go (will buy all the kit to braid my own cables, rather than buy prebraded extensions)

What adapters are you on about? The black rotarys? Waiting on OCUK to get bitspower instock, they have no ETA according to their email they sent. I'm also too damn lazy to actually go to another etailer to buy them, i like OCUK :D

Glad my advice was helpful, think the graphic design had an effect on my advice aha, but fluid should always stand out IMO! It saves you scrapping everything and starting a fresh as you have a decent setup.

Look forward to seeing this, and custom braided cables will look very nice. Paracord or normal braid?

If you are getting a white 810 case, then I would get some shiny silver rotatory adapters from bitspower.
